Hence, HIRING consultants is the solution to build your DREAM house without going out of budget. I'm sure many of you will argue that HIRING consultants aren't cheap, however the added VALUE provided is WORTH more and they will allow you to make SAVING in some areas. It is ADVISABLE to allocate a minimum of 10% of your house budget as consultant fees.

An Architect will grasp the client's DESIGN BRIEF and tailor-make the house to SUIT the client's requirements without compromising on the AESTHETIC.

Engineers
There are DIFFERENT type of Engineers, however for a house, the most commonly involved Engineers are the structural Engineer and the M&E Engineer.

A Structural Engineer will ENSURE that the house designed by the Architect is structurally SAFE. It is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to have them during construction phase to guarantee the proper CONSTRUCTION of your house.

A Quantity Surveyor will produce BOQ (bill of quantity) as a part of a LEGAL document during TENDER stage and construction phase. The BOQ is an IMPORTANT document to have as CONTRACTUAL document before appointing a contractor.
Furthermore, the Quantity Surveyor can EASILY find ways to save your MONEY during construction.
