Camera

how do you decide which DSLR to buy? There are an increasing array of them on the market so you have a real choice ahead of you.

Here are a few FACTORS to consider when looking for a DSLR:

- Price

- What will You use it For?

- Size

- Previous Gear

- Resolution

- Sensor Size

- Future upgrades

- Other features

Battery & Memory card

Investing on a secondary battery is always HANDY to have in your bag as an emergency battery. Sometime you forget to charge your first battery and can miss awesome shots.

Memory cards are cheaper nowadays. A 128GB card has enough storage capacity for a full shooting day especially when you are shooting RAW.

Lens

How to choose the RIGHT camera lens?

No single lens works for everyone, as each photographer has his own UNIQUE needs. What works for one may not work for another. So know your photography REQUIREMENTS first before you look for a lens. To narrow down your choices, CONSIDER these five factors:

- Focal Length

- Aperture

- Prime lens vs. zoom lens

- Compatibility with your camera’s sensor

- Price

Camera bag

Camera bags come in all shapes and sizes for all occasions. The choice of the RIGHT bag really comes down to how much you have to carry, and how you want to carry it (shoulder bag, backpack, even a rolling bag). Almost all camera bags offer good enough PROTECTION for your equipment.

However for beginner, I would HIGHLY recommend a shoulder bag for a start.

Tripod

Do you need a TRIPOD? As a beginner, tripod is not MUST if you are shooting without aiming at specific TECHNIQUES. But if you want to try to shoot milky way, long exposure shoot, tripod is the way to go.

What kind of tripod do you NEED? is a bit TRICKY, and depends on what type of photography you want to do. If you're going out on camping trips or long backpacking treks, your FOCUS may be more on weight. If you're trying to take pictures on top of a mountain or in otherwise rough conditions, you’ll want the most STURDY tripod possible.

IMPORTANT considerations when purchasing a tripod:

- How tall can the tripod extend?

- How much does the tripod weigh?

- How much weight can you put on the tripod?
