4 SIMPLE ingredients for a HEALTHY compost
A HEALTHY compost requires: Greens, Browns, Water & Air. Those elements at the right amount will create the IDEAL condition for composting. The ratio of GREENS to BROWNS should be approximately 1 : 1.
Greens will provide NITROGEN and Browns will provide CARBON to the compost mix.

Greens (nitrogen)
Lawn clippings
Kitchen waste
Used Coffee ground
Unseeded weeds
Finished plants (without disease)
Browns (carbon)
Cardboard & Newspaper
Woodchippings
Dried leaves
Dead plant (without disease)
Shredded paper

Water
Your compost pile SHOULD have the required humidity to function properly. The composting process works BEST at 40-60%.

At lower moisture levels, microbial activity is LIMITED.
At higher moisture levels, the process is likely to become anaerobic and foul-SMELLING.

Air
Natural ventilation is ESSENTIAL to maintain the HUMIDITY and TEMPERATURE constant.
The ideal temperature for a compost range from 49 to 77C.
A PVC chimney can also be added to HELP extra air flow.
